Hi, fellow TV nerds! As you may have noticed, I have not been updating this page very much. That's because Geek Magazine is coming back! Geek will be re-launching our website, Geek Exchange, in the very near future. I will be writing several TV reviews for the site, in addition to other geek lifestyle content. You will be able to access Geek Exchange through my website, so please stay tuned for a launch date!
I love Stitchers on ABCFamily. What a great little sci-fi show, centered on Kirsten Clark (Emma Ishta), an icy blonde, who could certainly give January Jones's Emma Frost a good run for the money. Kirsten has something known as Temporal Dysplasia that enables her to 'stitch' into the memories of dead people to solve crimes, aided by Cameron, the extremely affable neuroscientist who guides Kirsten on her trips down memory lane (sorry, couldn't help myself). Played by Kyle Harris, Cameron is working that Seth Cohen angle hard, and it is super charming. The supporting cast of scientists and secret government agents is entertaining and I don't find myself hating any of them. They're all good at what they do for the show, and there haven't been any cringe-worthy performance moments. A little more intrigue than Tru Calling, and a lot less morose, Stitchers is entertaining and has managed to keep the story driving forward at a nice pace. Last night's season finale left us hanging, with Cameron on the stitcher table, and Kirsten discovering painful secrets about her past. Stitchers has been renewed for season 2, and it has easily become my second favorite ABCFamily show, after Greek, of course! I watched it on Hulu, so if you are looking for a summer show to binge; check it out!
It’s back! #TVwithNikki is re-launching, right here, right now! This is the first post! I am going to be watching some summer shows, and blogging about them. Not every episode, not every show. It’s all very exciting. Are you new to #TVwithNikki? A few years ago I started casually tweeting and blogging about the many, many television shows I watch. It was fun, some people responded, and we engaged in discussions. I wrote about news, theories, complained, and exalted, etc. When I started writing for Geek Magazine, #TVwithNikki kind of fell by the wayside. And I missed it. So, here it goes:
These are the shows:
The Last Ship (TNT)
True Detective (HBO)
The Brink (HBO)
Stitchers (ABC Family)
Master Chef (FOX)
The Astronaut Wives Club (ABC)
Wayward Pines (FOX)
Orange is the New Black
Wet Hot American Summer: First Days of Summer (July 17)
To review: I will be watching all of these shows, blogging about some of the episodes, some of the time. Ocassionally, I will discover a show on Hulu or Netflix that I missed out on, and will binge-watch it with my cats. I’ll blog about that, too. Enjoy xx
